Dr. Evan Shepherd Reiff, DACM, L.Ac.​

As a primary care practitioner and specialist of Oriental Medicine, Dr. Evan Shepherd Reiff, DACM, L.Ac., brings a broad range of skills and experiences as both a healer and an educator to aid extraordinarily diverse populations. Whether in a clinical setting or in the field, Dr. Evan is respected for providing effective teachings and clinical relief for conditions involving anxiety, depression, pain, trauma, stress, and dependency or addictions in men, women, adolescents, and children.

Dr. Evan’s dedication to the practice of Buddhism has given him unique insight and tools for the mental-emotional and behavioral aspects of healing. In the Dzogchen Buddha Path Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, he is recognized as “Virtuous Sangha Mitra” under the guidance of H.E. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche. As a longtime practitioner of meditation and mindfulness, he brings to his work a heartful wisdom and understanding of the mind that he has developed over many years, remaining in close relationships with some of the most esteemed Western teachers and Asian masters.

In clinical practice, Dr. Evan works closely with medical doctors, psychologists, osteopathic physicians, other healthcare practitioners, and their patients to reduce or eliminate the need for prescription drugs and mitigate their undesirable side effects.

Dr. Evan specializes in the medical treatment of veterans and first responders of all types including law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, active military, and veterans. He has treated firefighters at California wildfire basecamps and has been a staff practitioner at The Bay Area Veteran’s Acupuncture Clinic (BAYVAC) in San Francisco and has been treating Veterans in his Sausalito Clinic under the VAMC Veteran’s Choice and Community Care programs.

His passion for helping the underserved has taken Dr. Evan overseas numerous times to provide trauma care for orphans in Nepal, monastic refugees from Tibet, and women rescued from the sex trade in India. Since 2010, he has also provided pro bono treatment for incarcerated and homeless veterans.

Dr. Evan also provides medical treatment and mindfulness training in corporate wellness programs in a wide variety of other group settings. You may have seen him presenting or treating participants at any number of conferences or trauma and addiction programs across the country:
