Evan Shepherd Reiff MS, LAc

evan-2015

As a primary care practitioner and specialist of Oriental Medicine, Evan Shepherd Reiff, LAc., brings a broad range of skills and experiences as both a healer and an educator to aid extraordinarily diverse populations. Whether in a clinical setting or in the field, Evan is well known and respected for providing effective diagnosis, treatment, and relief for conditions involving anxiety, depression, pain, trauma, stress, and dependency or addictions in men, women, adolescents, and children.

In clinical practice, he works closely with medical doctors, psychologists, osteopathic physicians, and other healthcare practitioners and their patients to reduce or eliminate the need for prescriptions drugs and mitigate their undesirable side effects.

His passion for helping the underserved has taken him overseas numerous times to provide trauma care to orphans in Nepal, monastic refugees from Tibet, and women rescued from the sex trade in India. Since 2010, he has also provided pro bono treatment for incarcerated and homeless veterans.

Evan’s dedication to the practice of Buddhism has given him unique insight and tools for the mental-emotional and behavioral aspects of healing. As a longtime practitioner of meditation and mindfulness, he brings to his work a heartful wisdom and understanding of the mind that he has developed over many years, remaining in close relationship with some of the most esteemed Western teachers and Asian masters.

He specializes in the medical treatment of veterans and first responders of all types including law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, active military, and veterans. He has treated firefighters at California wildfire basecamps, and has been a staff practitioner at the Bay Area Veteran’s Acupuncture Clinic (BAYVAC) in San Francisco.

He also provides medical treatment and mindfulness training in corporate wellness programs in a wide variety of other group settings. You may have seen him presenting or treating participants at any number of conferences or trauma and addiction programs across the country:
· Homeless Veterans Stand Downs
· San Francisco Jail’s C.O.V.E.R project for Incarcerated Veterans
· Veterans Home of California, Yountville
· John F. Kennedy University’s Conference, “Recovery from PTSD & TBI”
· Foundations Recovery Network’s Conference, “Freedom and Recovery”
